Restoring the Tradition of the Angelus Prayer

Our Mission

For centuries, church bells called Christians to pause three times a day — morning, noon, and evening — to pray the Angelus, a meditation on the Incarnation. In village squares and open fields, across Europe and beyond, people stopped what they were doing and turned their hearts to God.

That tradition has faded. We're bringing it back.

Project Angelus builds apps that ring real church bells on your devices — not beeps or generic notifications, but authentic recordings from churches and monasteries around the world. The same sacred tones that once echoed across generations, now in your pocket.

Designed for Beauty and Simplicity

The Angelus Bell is available on iPhone, Android, and as a Chrome browser extension — wherever you spend your day. When 6am, noon, or 6pm arrives, authentic church bells ring — not synthetic sounds, but real recordings from cathedrals and monasteries around the world. A gentle reminder appears with the words of the Angelus, should you wish to pray.

Choose from a collection of stunning bell recordings: the Abbey of Notre-Dame in Le Barroux, the Church of St. Marcellus in Trento, and more. Select which hours you'd like to observe. That's it.

No accounts. No subscriptions. No tracking. Just a sacred interruption.
